June 2012 marks the beginning of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (GPEDC), the structure that will replace the Working-Party on Aid Effectiveness (WP-Eff), which has been leading the discussion on aid and development effectiveness and facilitated global official processes culminating in major agreements stipulated in The Paris Declaration (2005), Accra Agenda for Action (AAA) and the Busan Partnership for Development Co-operation (2011).

The Climate Finance Building Block will be launched in a side event in Rio+20. A presentation event called "Busan Building Block: Climate Finance and Development Effectiveness" will take place on 18 June, 17:30-19:00, room P3-A in Riocentro.

Nairobi, Kenya – Representatives of various organizations from more than 14 countries of small farmers, fisherfolk, indigenous peoples, women, labor movements, environmentalists, faith-based organizations and NGOs from African Civil Society gathered on the eve of the Rio+20 Summit to push for a sustainable development agenda centered on human rights and do away with the corporatized green economy (GE) model which is one of the main themes of the ongoing Rio+20 negotiations.

The Post-Busan Interim Group (PBIG) is meeting for the third and final time in Paris from today May 21 until May 22, 2012. This meeting is set to finalize the proposal for the Governance and Monitoring of the Global Partnership which will be approved during the meeting of the Working Party for Aid Effectiveness in June 2012.

(Tela, Honduras) After two days of fruitful dialogues and exchanges, the participants of the First Latin American and Caribbean Dialogue on Climate Change Finance and Development Effectiveness agreed that it is crucial to improve the capacity of governments to make effective use of the resources allocated for climate change. This would affect the management of funds from bilateral and multilateral agencies as well as the sound management of national budgets for facing the challenges of climate change.
